The HP Omen 17t VR Ready is a well-balanced gaming notebook. Its internals is consistently powerful, its 144 Hz G-Sync display is one of the best on the market, and it manages heat and noise with aplomb. With its competitive pricing, the HP Omen 17t is one of the best overall packages in the gaming laptop market.

Best gaming laptop hp omen 17t

We have seen some HP omen machines in the past, and they generally compete well. However, the brand is not known to bring something new to the table. Instead, the HP's gaming line appears to be more responsive than active to choose the features offered by other brands.

The HP omen 17t VR Ready is no different in that regard, but instead of reflecting its competition, the trend we saw in laptops last year's gaming laptops seems like more refinement. A result is a machine that attacks a good balance in terms of performance, characteristics, heat management, and noise output.

To top it up, the Oman 17T has an aggressive price, which is starting at $1530 USD from Computer Upgrade King. Our review unit is configured with 512 GB boot SSD and 16 GB RAM, making the price at $ 1750.

The HP Omen 17t has the same chassis as the HP Omen 17, we reviewed the previous summer, saved for a small difference.

The new HP Oman 17T has left the optical drive, leaving the empty cave in the case of the machine. Everything else is gone from the old device. Thus, we will include some pictures of restyled internals but will discontinue discussion of external issues, including ports, construction quality, and input devices. Display

HP OMEN 17T LAPTOP DISPLAY

The omen 17t  screen is its biggest strength. The Display is 17.3 -inc Full HD IPS Anti-Glare WLED-Backlit, Screen Resolution is 1920 x 1080.

The best feature of the AU Optronics panel is undoubtedly its 144Hz refresh rate with Nvidia's G-Sync support. Also, the reaction time is lightning fast, and PWM is absent.

Currently, this configuration (144Hz, IPS, FHD) is the only one available for the Omen 17t VR ready. The screen is bright (~ 320 nights on average) and beats most competitors, which are between 250-300 nights in average

Processor

The HP Omen 17t is powered by an Intel Core i7-8750H Six-Core 8th Gen 9MB Cache memory Processor. Generation Kaby Lake line-up. Its cores run at 2.2 GHz, turbo boost up to 4.1 GHz, and support HyperThreading with up to 8 threads simultaneously

We have seen Intel Core i7-8750H in many gaming laptops since the release of this year, and the processor has proved a worthy upgrade last year at Kaby Lake Core i7-7700HQ.

GPU

The Nvidia's GeForce 8GB GDDR5 GTX 1070 10-Series graphics is a solid find to high-end gaming laptops that are targeted for affordability.

While GTX 1080 is approximately 35-40% faster (as measured by fire strikes), it is also more expensive and comes with the additional cost in energy consumption and heat production. Because of their GPU, heat and fan noise in the omen 17t (mostly) bay can take advantage of their high-rated performance during noise. HP can afford the device more competitively.

Storage

The omen 17t  VR ready storage device is 250GB NVMe Solid State Drive + 1TB 7200Rpm Hard Disk Drive.

HP OMEN 17t Boot up quickly with an NVMe  SSD  which is one of the fastest drives available today.

The Writing speed is faster as a result, but speed is slow. Otherwise, the drive is snappy. Opening heavy applications should not take long, and most games load time quickly.

The 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD drive used for mass storage.

Battery

The OMEN 17t is  144 Hz G-Sync display, Nvidia's Optimus Oman is not available at 17t. As a result, battery life is a surefire point of life machine.

The laptop Under normal use, tested using our WiFi v1.3 battery test, Oman 17t only manages to run for 4 hours and 10 minutes. Even after being inactive, Oman leaves the ghost after 4.5 hours.

However, this segment of the market is not unpredictable; Similar machines post similar run time. The 86 Wh battery is capable of powering through gaming sessions for about 1.5 hours, so the power adapter is a requirement outside and during it.

Performance

The inner parts of the HP Omen 17t are well balanced. Hexacore Intel Core i7-8750H well appreciates the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GPU, which results in a fine-tuned gaming laptop that often produces excessive heat or noise to take advantage of the high pixel high-speed refresh rate display. Can not push without it. The place to improve, but the overall experience is excellent.
